Camel Trekking In Morocco

Many visitors from the West come to Morocco never having laid eyes on a camel, yet almost all arrive with received wisdom about the creatures; myths about the simplicity of desert life, the nobility of the berber and the Lawrence-of-touargue-style romance of desert culture all seem to be inextricably bound up in the north africa minds with the camel. In truth, the bedouin long since gave up using camels either as a means of transport or as beasts of burden: Japanese pick-ups are faster, sturdier, longer-lived and less bad-tempered than your average dromedary. However, some tribes still keep a few camels, mostly for nostalgic reasons and the milk, though some breed and sell them. The bedouin that live in or close to touristed areas such as Petra and Rum have small herds of them to rent out for walks and desert excursions. There are no wild camels left

Camel Trekking In Merzouga Sahara Desert

Merzouga Camel Trekking

This trip begins in evening, we organize the camel ride for the night in desert from our guesthouse near the sand dunes. The camels will be packed with foods, blankets and everything else which we will need. The trek will start with a 1 hour and 30 minute ride by camel into the desert. We will spend the night in an equipped camp with music played on traditional Berber drums in the middle of the Sahara. When we arrive at the camp we walk to the high dunes to see the sunset. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. It will be a magical night, when the sky is clear of cover and stars sparkle and shine with intensity. During this evening, there will be a wonderful dinner around a campfire, listen to the drums and we will spend the night in nomad tents. In the morning we will ride the camels back to Merzouga , you’ll have the breakfast and shower in the guesthouse in Merzouga.

Camel Trekking In The Coast Atlantic

Morocco is famous for many things such as the imposing Atlas Mountains, the exotic souks of Marrakech and the rich Arabic and Berber cultures. Less well-known is the spectacular Atlantic coastline. Our relaxed one-week trip follows coastal paths to the attractive town of Essouira. On the way we pass secluded fishing villages, Argan tree orchards, deserted sandy beaches and rocky cliff tops. As a constant companion, we have splendid sea views and the roar of the crashing Atlantic surf. The trip is led by one of our experienced local guides, assisted by the camp and cooking staff. A caravan of camels will carry our luggage. We end the trip with relaxing free time in both Essouira and Marrakech
